Simple case of buyer beware. Sorry for your bad luck.
Sounds like the previous owner had tons of smiles with the RAM. Probably started to give him lots of trouble and traded/sold it off. Not good for the next owner. Happens all the time.

Ok I found the Carrier it is a 10.5 AAM part # 40047275 and they are nowhere to be found. Everyone keeps saying this place or that place has it. No they don't. It is a discontinued part. But I'm looking at 2400 bucks for that part alone. The 4.56 differential w e-lok. The gears in mine are destroyed and it in turn completely tore up the Carrier from inside to outside. Metal everywhere. So if I but the new Carrier and then have them repair and replace all seals and bearings etc. Parts and labor I'm looking at more than just replacing axle. So that's what I went with. No the brakes were done at Les Schwab and they will only do your brakes with calipers being replaced. So 4 heavy duty rotors 4 calipers and pads plus a system flush and bleed I don't think it was that much. I have been pricing out brake kits etc. and **** isn't cheap. Since you are happy with the prices and work you are getting then that is all a guy can ask for. Our opinions don't matter as we do not have the same full details you are working with. Asking us for our thoughts and opinions in the absence of that full information is not going to produce a valuable input for you. Little point in us weighing in, sorry we wasted your time. Carry on camping.

I disagree. A competent shop would say, we don't rebuild the rear ends our selves. We can send it out and have the work done or you can take it to X place. Charging a client $4 grand for a whole new rear axle, rather than getting the existing one rebuilt for $500 is not just "running their business model the way that works best for them". That is hosing a client and hoping they don't know any better.

On top of that, like I said above, I am not in the least bit convinced there is in fact anything wrong with the differential, carrier or gears and recommended he get a second option form a shop that specialises in rear ends.

I do appreciate everyone's input. This was in no way a attempt to sound ungrateful. Just spent countless hours calling places and searching all corners of the web and car part sites and salvage and just nothing nowhere. Started getting a little frustrated especially cause everyone keeps saying it's out there like they are everywhere and they really aren't lol. I'm not happy with the pricing at all of this option or rebuild option. I did call around and told people what was going on and explained what needed to be done and what was going and they were pretty forward in saying if you can get the rear end already done it would be cheaper if that carrier is that much. But really thank you everyone for your thoughts and input it helped me reach my decision. Oh and SCREW Ram and Dodge and Stellantis and AAM for discontinuing integral drivetrain freaking parts.

Fair enough. Appreciate the clarity. I have accepted but been unhappy with the solution a few times too, so I get where you ended up. I just misread your update so sorry if I was a little rough on you. All good from my perspective, except I agree about screw the manufacturers that quit making parts for our vehicles that aren't even ten years old.

Shocked that a shop 'required' you to replace the calipers too. Never heard of that. Sounds like they wanted to pad your bill. Even dealerships don't push that unless there is an issue with them.

He got it done at Les Schwab which is a tire and automotive maintenance chain store that has the Jiffy Lube model of upsell.

This company carries many Chrysler driveline parts for many Rams & Jeep vehicles

i would contact them through their customer assistance

i have noticed that a lot of the suppliers parts catalogs have parts on back order
that does not mean that the part is discontinued

Seeing as the 10.5 diff hasn't been installed in a truck since 2013,I'm not surprised it's been discontinued
I'm not sure of the width on a 3rd gen PW,but the internals are the same from 2005 to 2013,so this might help you find a decent used unit that'll either bolt in,or that has the usable parts you need to fix yours

I think that both Chrysler & GM used the 10.5 differentials

gm 10.5 aam rear axle from www.dennysdriveshaft.com
NOTE:
he AAM 10.5" axle, also known as the Chrysler 10.5" is found under Ram trucks and vans from 2003 to 2012. The AAM/Chrysler 10.5" looks very similar to the popular GM 10.5" 14 Bolt axle, however, it does not have a removable pinion support which is the easiest way to identify it and the parts are not interchangeable.

The carrier with E-Locker(limited slip when locker is not engaged),as well as the axle housing(pass through for the electrical connector) is specific/exclusive to the Power Wagon
As far as I'm aware,it was never available in any other vehicle
