Hey guys does anyone have any experience with sea foam and how does it work. Should put it in the oil and there the vacuum line? And if so how do I do it? I’ve never messed with this stuff but I’ve heard it’s good but causes a smoke show.

Put a can in your gas tank when you have like 1/4 a tank then pour 3/4 of a can in the oil and the rest in the throttle body. This is what I did and it worked for me. Truck may have a little issue starting but if you pump the gas a few times it’ll start. Let it run for 20-30 min then change the oil before you drive it

Ok cool. Heard it creates a lot of smoke when doing it. I just did my intake job and I wanna get all the build up out and hopefully that will help out on some much need mpg as well.

I used 2. You can use 1 too but I found 2 worked better. With 1 I’d pour 1/2 in the gas tank, a 1/3 in the oil and the rest in the throttle body. Same steps as with 2 cans just less seafoam

I did not put it in the vacuum lines. It should still get in the lines from the intake

Sea Foam works great! It is also a fuel stabilizer ! And yes is will smoke when you clean the throttle body or spray in the intake ! Normal ! it is also safe to leave in your oil but like mentioned most change the oil soon after used. I ran it in my MC oil a few hundred miles then changed even though the manufacture said it is fine to leave it in ! Seafoam is Petroleum based and is safe for Dino based oil as well as Synthetic per the manufacture ! So like other's I think it is a good safe product. Also good on Pancakes or Waffle's lol (JK) LOL

Yea I'm not much a fan of additives either. I started using Seafoam and a stabilizer , then I put in my oil for about 100 miles on my bike, then changed the oil. Seafoam says it can stay in the whole time but I feel better draining it early lol

The only reason I wanna use sea foam is bc while I was doin my intake job I seen some build up inside my lifter valley. So I know it’s in ports and cylinders. I cleaned most of it out myself with a rabbit I know I didn’t get it all. But let me ask u this why the smoke when it’s used does that mean it’s working and that build up coming out the exhaust or what lol

It only smokes when you clean the throttle body ! In the oil or gas no smoking

Wonder why it smokes tho.

All I know is it is petroleum base, and IMO that is why it smokes. And that is what I have heard. If you go to the Seafoam site they have a Q7A section which helped me answer some questions I had, You can also e mail them for better details ! If you do post up what they say, could be of help :)

I see your cannt sleep either lol.. I was not much help :) But as far as I know it is good stuff, and if any petroleum product I assume it will burn and smoke as well ! One of the few additives I think works Have a great holiday

Not a seafoam fan. Better used in old ethanol or fuel that's collected a little water. Not good for much else.

If you wanna de-carbon the chambers you're better off with adding 2 stroke oil to the fuel (i like marine tc-w3 because it's pretty smokeless) or using either Mopar combustion chamber cleaner or the Amsoil power foam. Those 2 go in through the throttle body much like the smokeshow way of using seafoam but are much more effective.

For cleaning out the crankcase i prefer Marvel Mystery Oil because it both cleans better and has better lubricity. 500 miles before the next change is when i use it if i do use it
