Was thinking about doing this today. has anyone used it on their truck for the throttle body? I used the regular motor treatment for the vac lines, oil and gas tank a while back..but this will be the first time i do the TB...

I looked up some vids on youtube and saw it done on the 4.7 in a dak so it seems fairly easy to do..just wondering if anyone has used it on their truck and if it has helped.

Do not use carb/throttle cleaner, use brake cleaner as it drys quickly if anything.

Steel wool is the best thing to use to clean it since you wont use any liquids.

I just recently destroyed my throttle body cleaning it and it cost me $300 to get a new one.
I suggest

Just be careful to not get any fluid/cleaning compound on the sensor. Also, remove the entire TB before you clean it, to avoid getting garbage down into your engine. Should feel like a new truck after you clean all that gunk off.

Eh, wouldnt want to clean my TB on the truck like that with a brush, removing is the way to go. Im starting to become a firm believer in just damping a rag or brush and whiping the blade and port vs spraying it.

One thing I will say is you have the 4.7 so you don't have to be as fearful of ruining things by spraying cleaner on the sensor. That is more of a Hemi thing. What do you know...there is something good about the 4.7 after all. :)

I have 55k miles on it now and haven't cleaned the TB yet. So I may just see how dirty it is this coming monday and wipe it down. I'll probably run a little sea foam in the gas tank too..at least the small amount that i have left. I just like to do this **** as a "preventative measure" lol..I am paranoid about things breaking down :/
