Morning all!!!! Great start to the day--cup of coffee, walk with the mutt, and the "boss" is still asleep so I guess I get some "me" time. Y'all on the coast, hold on to your ass and get yourself a pair of rubber boots, looks like your going to catch hell. Be safe!!!!!!!!!

I started reading the thread and sure enough, I had missed the OP, as in "(when all else fails) read the instructions." It's a lot like asking for directions, I'm afraid. :D Well, my first car was a '51 Ford. It was a 4-door and it had a rebuilt flathead V8, an overdrive standard transmission, and unknown at the time of purchase, a worn out differential. My Dad paid $250. for the car, I believe, and I had to pay for the insurance, $296., obtained by having to take the MTA into Boston to Milk St. to go to the Assigned Risk Board. That in itself was a valuable lesson to stay out of Boston if at all possible. So I had to get a junk carrier for the rear end, install it and I was off on the adventure of a lifetime working on my own vehicles and on others' vehicles, too. Eventually, I had the heads planed, put in a 3/4-race cam, an Edelbrock intake manifold with a pair of 2-bbl. Holley carbs, a Mallory centrifugal advance distributor, an electric fuel pump. My next car was a '57 Mercury 2-dr. hardtop with a 312 cu. in. V8 and a three-speed on the column. The Merc, all stock, would have blown the doors of that flathead Ford, even after all the work on it. Good lesson. First new car was a '66 Ford Galaxy, purchased new for about $3200.00 from Dusty Rhodes Ford in Elizabethtown KY.

Not me - if the morning DP doesn't get me, then my strict red meat diet will. Vegetables are what FOOD eats.

Morning y'all! Still cloudy here with a 70% change of rain again. If it rains it will be the 13th day in a row. I'm getting web feet! I need to clay bar the truck and then seal it and wax it---about a 3 day job, but not in 100 degree humidity. Guess I'll have another cup and watch the rain fall and the grass grow. Have a good day guys!!! Happy Friday!
