Service Electronic Throttle

Well interesting day this afternoon with my pickup.

Headed for town to go to NAPA to get a fan belt for a tractor,

all of a sudden had kind of a hesitation a chime went of and a message,

service electronic throttle popped up, then the water temp display quit,

the engine fan went to high.

The truck kept running and seemed OK, got to NAPA and debated about then

went ahead and turned the truck off, when I came back out she fired right up,

the water temp indicated and the fan was back to normal, check engine light was on

but the service throttle message was gone. Drove home and worked on the tractor,

started the truck up a couple of times to run up and get anti freeze and such.

Got finished with the tractor started the truck and the check engine light cleared.

So no idea what the code was, truck seems fine now.

It has not repeated itself again, starting and running normal ever since.

Well it has repeated itself code of P0118, it has cleared itself a few times but come back in a day or two, temperature sensor on order at dealer waiting for it to come in.

sensor replaced 1/28/2021 we shall see what happens.

No the sensor replacement eliminated the problem.
