I have shaking problems and all thought I'm sure I know what PART of it is... I'm not sure about the rest.

My front driver CV axle is worn out and loose. I need to replace that and the axle shaft. That should help fix some of it.

I also feel a shake from the rear end. Well...it feels like the rear end of the truck. I'm not sure what it could be. What would cause a shake? It's not an unbalanced tires as it's more of a shake that happens just after hitting a bump. (If that makes sense.) Any tips on what to look at?

maybe the rear suspension is getting worn out? are your leaf springs in a perfect bow shape? or is it more like this? IMAG0992.jpgwhere in the middle right where the the leafs connect to the axle i sorta levels out?

Actually I THINK the springs arch up over the axle.

How can you be so sure its not an unbalanced tire?

hmmm... possible a few things. if its right after you hit a bump or dip in the road I'd say possible rear shocks. those are a good thing to look at and replace regardless.... maybe U-joints wore out for the drive shaft? easy enough to replace if that is the case and not to bad on cost. if its a shake that is coming in waves or pulses. say every couple of seconds then gone a few more seconds and shakes again, i would would agree a bad tire on the rear. even if the tire was balanced properly recently it can easily be bad. if the treads are wore out or possibly a band separating on the inside. even a bent rim is a possible.

I had the wheels balanced a couple weeks ago.

I will have to check the ujoints today. Ill check the opinion too. How much should the truck move when i bounce it to check the shocks? Ill also take a look at the tires.
