Used the emergency neutral release and now truck is able to be driven. Any one know why it would lock up to begin with.

Door switch or seatbelt switch maybe?
As in, if you swing open the driver's side door without the seatbelt latched, the transmission will slam itself in park.

You're talking about the transfer case neutral right? Not the one from the shifter wheel but the pin hole button in the 4WD selection area?
