Hey guys I have 05 4x4 with stick on floor. Never owned truck with it on the floor have only owned electronic. You can still shift these on the fly right. Provided nothing is spinning out at the time? And also is it normal for it to kinda have a mind of its own on when it falls back into 2 wheel. I've had it in 4 wheel and I'll put it back in 2 while moving and it doesn't go right back in. Now that I understand cause it's still under power but I expect it to drop down at my first stop sign I come to. Sometimes it does and sometimes it does not sometimes I have to shift transmission into netral or park before it drops. Is that normal? Or is there an issue? Thanks

Sounds normal from what I remember with that type.

Those cases sometimes don't release from 4x4 until you select 2WD, then back up a short distance. That's what my 2007 MegaCab was like.

You can shift on the fly but I'd make sure to read the xfer case instructions in the manual regarding maximum MPH at which you can make the change. Going too fast and shifting out of 4WD HI or LO can tear up a transfer case.
