Depending on the camper you might not even need a slider. But of course it might ne good if you go to another trailer.

I can hook up with about 4" of space between the tailgate and the camper when straight on. I do have a slider but never use it.

I am the same. Have a slider, and only used it once...the very first time probably 15 years ago. Realized I didn't need to use it. I don't go to camping places where I have to use it, so I don't. Nice to have it just in case though.

Thank you Sir! I found out on Monday the Vin# has been assigned to the vehicle. Now the 3-4 month wait for it to arrive...
Let us know when you get your hands on it. Curious to see your payload/tow ratings

I just downsized my trailer, and now my tow vehicle as well. I came from a dually 3500 , with the 8 foot bed configuration. No issues at all with this set up. But the truck was a monster for anything but towing. So I downsized to a 2500, and its a short bed. Just hooked up my current smaller fiver for the first time yesterday, w/o a slider hitch set up and no problems at all with clearance. I put it thru as tight a turn I could. Many of the new fivers have the 88 degree type caps now a days to clear the cabs in short bed trucks. I really didnt want to spend a bunch more money a yet another fifth wheel hitch set up if I didnt have to. And it looks like I dont need one!
