it is really up to you and what you use the truck for? the more you lift it the harder it gets to load and unload stuff into the box. my buddy has quite a bit of lift to his truck and it makes it easy to work on but hard to get stuff into. even getting into the cab is getting hard especially if he switches to 37's or 38's this summer

Will this be a daily driver? Work truck? Or just want a cool truck to drive?

If you want the cool factor I would not lift it but would remove the aftermarket running boards, roll bar/rack and bed rails. Sometimes less is more.

Then put some nice wheels & tires. This truck could be one those cool classics.

My son is 13 this will be his when he gets ready to drive. He likes the factory stuff but I want it to be cool to . We plan on redoing the whole truck I asked him did he want a different color he says he wants this color and factory bumper's so any ideas are welcome. If it was for me I would go completely stock but I think he may need a little something

i don't know if i would put a lift on it if you are giving it to your kid. i think you should see how he takes care of the truck first before throwing money at it. no point putting money into it if he is going to be one of those kids that end up destroying vehicles.

If you have never lifted a truck before, too much is a pain in more ways than one. First off it really doesn't gain you anything but cool factor, and usually rruins the daily use handling and such of the truck. It can also lead to broken parts and bad mileage. I'd do no more than a 2-4 in lift and no bigger than 31 in tires. If you go bigger on the tires you also screw up your final drive gear ratios and mileage, power, and braking suffer greatly. My truck has a 3in lift, and at only 5 foot 7, it is just right and not too hard to get in and out of. My blazer had a 6in, 33 IN TIRES, and was a pain, my ramcharger had an 8in, 38.5 tires, and was a total *****.

my buddy is thinking about putting 37's or 38's on his rig in the spring. he had 35's on it when he got it. it will look mean once he is 100% done lifting it and got new tires for it.

i think it would depend on how much sag there is in the springs. might only be able to run 31 or maybe 32's. my 89 has 33's on it but they occasionally rub up front and i am not sure if the suspension is stock. the rear will easily clear 33. i put the 33's on the back of my 93 for a bit. the looked good. i think i could probably run 31's up front and it would improve the look but i am not too worried about it right now.

31 10.5 15 is about it without rubbing, and that is if your stock springs aren't a sagged out.

The ramcharger was a bit higher from the get go than the w150 trucks. They came with an equivalent of a 3 in lift. My 77 was high enough to fit 33s under and still didn't look lowered. I ended up putting 3/4 ton Dunn ng under it and an 8 in lift and went to 38.5 super swampers. Oh and a 426 max wedge motor....

I don't know about that. I know another ramcharger that is stock with worn out Springs and it doesn't sit much higher than my 93 but it definitely does not sit as high as my 89. I do know my 89 is setup for 31'sale. Speedo is always off with the tires I have.
