Hi,

I purchased a side running courtesy 70" LED kit from amazon. Manufacturer is OPL5.

I have a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport with the premium LED headlight package.

It has open wire leads for 1:Courtesy, 2:Signals, 3:Running lights.

Does anyone know if I can tap into wiring harness for the headlights
and get power for, turning, courtesy, and running lights?

If I can do this then what color wires do I need to tap into for:
1:Courtesy Lights
2:Turning Signals.
3: Running lights.

Thank you for your time.

I'm not one for tapping into factory wires, but if you do, weather proof connectors should be used. I know this doesn't answer your question, but with the exception of the "courtesy" lights I might consider using the trailer wiring for what you want. You could use fuse taps at the fuse box, or get a T adapter from Kurt for the trailer tow plug and make up a harness from there. Somewhere on this site there was a kit available to have your mirror courtesy lights stay on with the running lights, so that might an option to look at for your wiring as well ?

I do appreciate the feedback.

I just wanted to get a signal path from each blinker from the front as it's easier to wire up from there to the front sides.

I will however run a relay on each side as to not overload the circuit from the signal path and either blow a fuse or worse.

I will also consider running a custom self made wiring kit from the trailer hitch's signal paths for each side.
The latter of the both sounds more like a safe and stable way to go period.

I have also figured out the signal paths (Which wires) for the blinkers and the running lights from the head light connector plugs.

Cheers,

I ended up just running a nice quality shielded heavier gauge 4 wire cable ¨zip tie secured¨ from the back trailer hitch plug to the front up into the cab through the floor plug on the passenger side.
I decided to keep all the wiring inside under the dash of the passenger side as there is some extra space there for my needs.
I also fused each connection.
2.88amps on turning signal line each side.
1.44 amps on the courtesy light signal line each side.

Cheers,
