Single DIN location below the A/C

I was thinking of installing a single DIN headunit to allow BT and audio controls for an iPad mini in the OEM double din location.

Has anyone seen a radio installed under the a/c where that pocket is located?

Or like this one attached where the trailer controls go?

either way it looks like a good bit of fiberglassing to make it work.

Yea i have a good glass guy who will it. just wondering of anyone here has tried this already.

I'd pull the cover off and see how much room you have to work with. If you found some on google that have done this I have no doubt it can be done.

when doing an ipad install alot of people in the business are using a sony radio (sorry i dont have the model number right now). you simply put an app on the opad and control the entire radio on the ipad. it also comes with BT then if you have steering wheel controls it can also be used with an adapter.

Yea its the Sony radio with APPS. i looked at it and i may use that below the A/C with ipad mini up top. I will wait until sept9 apple announcements i think.

the other thing i have seen also is people will build a custom kit that holds the ipad, then directly behind it the deck will be.
