I got my 83 running this fall, I put in a new coil and ballast resister. Then a couple days later it wouldn’t start and had no spark again. Why would it burn out a brand new coil? I ordered a internally resisted performing flamethrower coil do you think that will help?

I'm assuming you have a breakerless distributor, Which ballast resistor are you using? There are 2 different ones depending on points type distributor or breakerless.

Someone took of the breaker-less a long time ago it has points now. I’m not sure what ballast resister I had in it. I’ve heard people talk about grounding being the problem but I’m not sure why.
