Slow filling gas tank

Anyone know who I might talk to and a phone number about the 2020 Ram fuel tank not filling, but just trickles in or pump shuts off. PLEASE don't suggest the dealership. They say they have never heard of a tank not filling fast and "NOT UNDER WARRANTY. Prefer a field rep or someone who can take care of this as the dealership says My Ram was purchased in Feb of 2020 and only has 3800 or fewer miles on it.

It is common for the hose to shut off when filling. However, common as in bad. It is a warranty item and has been known since the 2019 came out. Not all trucks do it. From what I’ve read they replace the hose or something around the area. I’m sure if you searched the forum you’d find a ton of post on this issue.

Your dealership is not being honest with you, and you might want to try going to another one. This is absolutely a warranty issue. People have lemon lawed their trucks because of fueling issues. Maybe @RamCares can come in and give you some help. I know there is one particular gas station I can't go to because it won't allow me to fill my tank. I just avoid going to that one.

Not sure if my problem is the same as yours but I just put the gas nozzle in about 1 in. past the flap in the filler tube and lift the gas nozzle up as high as it as it will let me and it will fill up fast. I have to hold the handle the whole time until it fills but it at least will allow me to fill it faster. You may have already tried it but an idea just in case you haven't.

Common issue. Search on this site using "gas filling" without the quotes. Lots of complaints about this.

I am having the same problem with the fuel tank with my 2021 Rebel- it clicks off and yet if I spend the time putting in 20 to 50 cents at a time I get another $15 to $20 in the tank. Someone suggested not putting the nozzle in completely but that resulted in gas spraying out all over the place (NJ - attendant tried it while I was warning him not to try that). Never had that problem in my 2018 Rebel but it had a different tank (had a cap).

I haven't experienced this issue yet. My 3 fill-ups have been issue free. Best of luck to all who are experiencing this. Perhaps pulling the pump out, or putting it in a little more will help. I've had that issue before on my trucks as early as my 1993 Chevy Cheyenne, I repositioned the nozzle to make it pump correctly.

My 2019 Laramie 1500 had the same issue at 32K miles. Dealer replaced the fuel tank, fuel pump, and filler tube. Now, at 38K I have exactly the same problem again. Goes to the dealer Sept 1. Apparently it is under the emissions warranty because the general warranty runs out after 36K

My 11 had an actual gas cap and I never had problems with filling the tank. My 21 BTS, without the cap fills up ok if I dont put the nozzle in all the way. Im sure it's a venting issue but I'm also sure some gas nozzles can be too sensitive and kick off easily. I do notice I need different filling procedures depending on the station I'm filling up at

Yeah it's a pain in the ***, I have a 2019 3500 DRW and it takes 20 min to get the last 5 gallons in a 32 gal tank. Has there been a fix yet?

You need to go to the dealer and insist they put on the updated filler neck. I don't know if they're still pretending that the problem doesn't exist, but it does. For a while the filler neck was too steep and it just does not work. The pump nozzle gets stuck, and it takes forever to fill because it keeps cutting off. When they finally replaced mine, I think it's been a year now at least, it's filled very easily ever since, and the nozzle never gets stuck.

So frustrating. I have a 2020 Ram Rebel with the 33 gallon tank that won’t take fuel. Took weeks to get into the dealer. Now they say they’ve ordered a new fuel tank and sent the truck home. It will take months to get the tank in they said. What can I do to speed this up? What do I have to do to return the truck and use the lemon law?

I am having the same issue with my 2019 Ram. and it only has 23000Km on it. i will be reaching out to the dealer today. Sad 20min to put 10$ in the FKIN thing.

New filler tube installed, same ********, last 4-5 gallons takes 20-30 min.

The new filler tube is the the angle of the tube, so the nozzle doesn't get stuck when you put it in. It doesn't solve the pumping issue.
