I have a 2013 ram 1500. I was driving in the snow the other day and when I got home the I couldn't shift into park or reverse. It felt like a linkage issue so I got under the truck and sure enough I had slush and snow packed around the front of the transmission. After I cleared it all out the truck shifted just fine. This really sucks. I guess I could try to install a skidplate. Any advice.

Since you've got a linkage and a 2013 I'm guessing that's the 6 speed transmission... those should have a little plastic shield doodad in front of the linkage, is yours missing or was it caked up with snow and ice in spite of the shield?

I will check to see if the shield is still there. Thanks for the quick reply

We've got a few inches of snow on the ground here but I haven't driven the Ram in a week so it's all dry underneath. I took a photo for you that shows the plastic shield on mine and also I got the skid plates in the photo so you can get an idea of what they cover, in case you end up looking for the factory skidplates.

I've never had any snow problems with the linkage but we don't get super deep snow here and all sorts of factors affect that anyway like how cold it is and what kind of soil mixes with the snow that gets kicked up.. well hopefully the photo helps you identify if you're missing anything at least.

I live in Montana and have driven in snow deep enough to leave skid marks from the frame and drive line. I'm at stock height

Never had this happen. Have a 2011 5.7 six speed.

Have had an abs sensor act up due to snow packed in the wheels but that's a different story.

I have full skid plates, except the gas tank.
