Anybody ever use the 4- and 7-pin hookups simultaneously?

No but I don't see why it wouldn't work. Plug in the 7 pin and turn on the flashers and take a volt meter to see put it's pushing power to both

yeah. i have had mud flaps (like rock tamers) that hung from trailer hitch that i wired brake lights into via the four pin. I then towed a boat with said hitch.

:roflsquared: Lucky you didn't fry your truck harness.

You'd have to remove the covers as they can't be open simultaneously. I used to do this when double towing on my old truck but have since wired in to the camper wiring and put the plug in at the back of the camper.

Never done it, but as far as I can see if you don't exceed the amperage of any circuit with the combined loads I don't see a problem. That said, if you do, it should blow a circuit fuse as I'm quite sure that they are all wired together in the harness.

I've added two additional 4 pin plugs to the 4 pin circuit. One is for my "line of fire" and the other is for my receiver plug lite. When I'm towing, the "line of fire" still works while I've my 7x14 tandem axle trailer attached. You shouldn't have any problems, but adding an additional 4 pin plug underneath eliminates the problem with the two covers.

I did on my 2011 when I had a tailgate light bar. I wired in a second 4 pin behind the bumper for the light bar though. With the low draw of the leds I didn't ever have any issues
