Solid axle swap and front differential?

Hi

I have a 2006 Ram 1500. I’ve noticed a few threads on swapping out the front IFS for leaf springs and a solid front axle.

Are they doing that so that they can put in a front differential locker?

My understanding is with the existing IFS you can’t put in a front locker?
