Hello,

This is my first truck, but this thing slides all over the place in the rain. Figuring it rains almost everyday during the summer that is no good for me. I currently have the stock tires with only 19k miles. Can anyone suggest a good tire for rain? I don't really do any off-roading and never see snow. I would like some "truck" looking tires, and if I need to do 5100s for a small lift, I can make that happen. What do you guys suggest?

Been happy with the Toyo Open Country AT2 tires on my truck. It hasn't rained a lot since I got them, but the few times it has, they have been solid. And they have a 65k mile warranty, road hazard warranty, and that truck look.

You'll get many different answers, but all will agree that the factory good years suck.
Every Goodyear tire I've driven on sucked in the rain.

Pretty much any reputable tire other than the stock SRAs...

Every Good year tire I have ever dealt with SUCK, and thats from Auto/LT to tractor tires to the tires we keep replacing on the Fire Trucks... JUNK!!!

A decent all terrain tire will do you fine, like mentioned above.

I live in Florida and just did my commute home 25 miles and it rained entire way home. Never ever an issue with my Toyo at 2 ... My 35/12.5/20 are better then my 275/65/20 were. Highly recommend the Toyo at2

I've had my Cooper ATP tires for about a month and we've had some really heavy rains recently and I couldn't be more pleased with how they perform - BRING ON THE SNOW!

Fairly aggressive looking without breaking the bank...

I looked into a few of these. Some are hard to find, especially locally.

I may go with the Cooper Discoverer H/T Plus. My local PepBoys has them for $665 installed with tax, then I get a $50 rebate, so really $615. Any thoughts on these? Is the road hazard protection or alignment worth my extra money? Alignment is fine now.

Correction: That price is with the road hazard warranty, have to have that to get the 4th tire free.

Called a local place my girlfriend's dad highly recommends. He highly recommended the KA2 and gave me a price of 1022 with tax, then $70 rebate. So essentially $952, about $85 a tire more than the Coopers. He doesn't sell Cooper, I may go down and see what other options they have. I like they idea of giving my money to a local place.

Any thoughts guys?

IF you really want a great rain tire I would reccomend Michelin LTX MS2s. I had them on my last truck and they are fantastic in rain. They have better traction in the rain then those crap stock tires do in dry conditions.

If you are looking for something more aggressive look at Toyo Open Country AT2s. I am happy with them and the traction in rain is pretty good. But they are nothing compared to the MS2s (in rain)
