what do you guys think of some type a cover over the cad motor assembly ? we run these trucks at work and ive not yet heard of one getting damaged or broke but we dont do extreme offroad stuff. i dont recall anyone posting about breaking one on various forums but i havent went searching the internet specifically looking for broken ones either. i certainly wont ignore the fact one could get busted if the truck were caught up in the wrong situation

Oh I see. I understood that the company trucks already had this “cover”. I think @22hemi13 has done something like this.
Nothing on mine. It has a few scratches but nothing really hits if off-roading. That’s what my tires and rockers are for lolololol.

for the hek of it i made something. maybe someday it will be useful. all of its 6061 welded with 5356. the main body is .650" with some maching down to .500. the other various pieces are .325 and .250. the sqaure portion is secured to the body with four m8 arp bolts. two m10 arp bolts and two 1/4 diam hk steel dowels. the whole assembly is secured to the axle housing with four m8 arp bolts and two 1/4 diam hk steel dowels running through steel bushing into the body. its fairly stout. waiting on the bushings to show up so i can finish it20200920_130643.jpg
