Supposed to go with him tomorrow. He has a 2018 2500 6.4 identical to mine but it has 95,000 miles on it now and he just started a new job so his driving will be cut down for at least another 12-18 months. After that who knows. He may end up going back to racking up miles again so he wants the Cummins. He won't be towing anymore but the 6.4 towed his TT fine. He is selling the TT now too. Problem is can't find anything around here. Found a '21 Laramie for $77,000 that we might go look at tomorrow. He wants something pretty loaded so at least a Big Horn. He said he has been looking all night and hasn't found much. He also found a 2019 Laramie with 19,000 miles for $67,000. Hard to justify paying that much for a used one when you can get a brand new one for not much more

My two cents is he should wait, as long as his truck is still running well enough. With the lack of suitable inventory and people willing to pay well above sticker, it's a (temporary) losing battle. The other side is he could probably get more than his truck is worth on a private sale or trade.

Yeah you are probably right but he wants to get rid of his before it hits 100,000 miles. I told him I would keep his another year or so but he is afraid if he goes back on the road he will be at 200,000 in another year or so. On the flipside when he was in Texas he called a dealer about a truck and they told him over the phone they would only give him $25,000 for his. It's a 2018 with every option except leather, heated seats and sunroof. Has the 6.4 with 4.10's. Only had about 80,000 on it at that time. He told them the truck was spotless and they said it didn't matter. I told him they will put it on the lot for $40,000. I told him not to take less than $32,000 for it

That's a good price. He really likes the all white with black wheels and wants the full console. He spends alot of time in his truck with laptop, clipboards, etc so wants the extra room they give

Well we just got back. He traded for a 2021 Big Horn 2500 Cummins with 3.73's. All white with black wheels. Full center console with touchscreen and nav. $67,000 and they would not budge on price. It was the only 2500 Cummins they had on the lot. They only gave him 29,000 for his truck. It came from Canada and they said that was why the price was so low but that was all they would do.

The dealer said they normally have about 300 new cars on their lot. They currently have 9...well 8 now...lol. Can't get anything in. They have a 2014 3500 Cummins with 157,000 miles with the floor of the bed all rusted and want $46,000 for it.

Well, at least he got what he wanted more or less.

Yeah. I was on the fence with it. Nice truck but there was nothing wrong with his other than high miles. On the other hand if he has to go back on the road he would likely hit 150,000 miles within 6 months and 200,000 within about 15 or so months.

The truck has the 5th wheel/gooseneck setup too. It doesn't have the sliding rear window and he kind of wanted that since his current truck has it but said it wasn't a deal breaker

At least with the 5'er prep kit he'll have additional options if he has go back to living on the road.

He'll like the truck I'm sure.
When I was looking I really wanted a gas 2 wheel drive truck. Couldn't find one near by. Once I got inside this one and drove it it was game over LOL.

I like it without the cab clearance lights. Mine has them, just another potential leak in my opinion.
I hoipe he has good luck with it.
