I apologize if it’s been posted elsewhere however I’ve not found it. I bought a Ram Limited Longhorn 1500 and just now noticing there’s no light under the hood of my truck. These trucks are going for almost 80k with all the bells n whistles but they don’t come with a light? Or is my truck special and it was forgotten? Lol. So just curious if anyone else has this feature or rather lack of feature.

Nope, they stopped coming with the under hood light on the 5th gens. We finally got good headlights though!

It’s a limited longhorn but yes I probably got screwed a bit. Not as smart as some when buying a new truck. The msrp was just shy of 77k and is my special ordered Air Force Interior also a 10th anniversary edition. So any ways I’ve got the truck I wanted plus to make the payments

I appreciate the answer to my stupid question. Seems pretty stupid in my opinion to not place a little light under the hood.

Nope not a stupid question at all .... I don't have the light in my 2018 Ram 1500 Big Horn but I have seen other Big Horns with them on from factory which makes no sense to me lol ..

You can buy the light kit on amazon though and it's only like $25 and very easy to install ...

Not sure what the point of this post was. It's really no one's business how much someone else pays for their vehicle. The deal is done. The only purpose this post could serve is to make him feel bad about not getting a smoking deal, or to make you feel good about making him feel bad. Either way, there's no point in it. Buying a truck during these times is nothing like it was when you bought your 2018. Hell, it's not even like it was a year ago. Unless you're willing to travel or have it shipped, lots of us are limited to the deals that they're willing to give us at the dealerships in our areas.

Congrats on your new truck Mrbyh20!

Chevy and Ford I believe stop putting lights under the hood as well. My 2016 LTZ off-road 3500 did not have one. I just ordered a kit with a pressure switch should be here today.

So I guess we’re only allowed to check fluids during the daytime? Lol. Cost the manufacture mere pennies to have them installed like they were many many years. I just didn’t think about it until I went to check the oil the other night and wasn’t able to see the dipstick. Haha. Guessing I’m the dipstick now. Oh well I’ll just put one in as it’s really not a big deal but came as a surprise. I know my 2017 ram had one. Another thing I’m seeing is the spare tire. It looks like one of those temporary solid rubber of deals. Guess I shouldn’t complain since it has something. Wife’s car had that listed as an option. Cheap cheap cheap in someways. Lol

Comes down to get percentage of people that actually pop the hood and look. I am sure most don't even know how to open the hood lol. Most modern cars warn you when the oil is low lol. People do want the light will add it later. I agree they are being cheap and next there will be no dip sticks lol

You're laughing but many higher end cars no longer have dipsticks. And they've already did away with the trans dipsticks on our trucks years ago. My 2010 Audi doesn't have any dipsticks for checking fluids.
