I just bought a 3500 limited with the 6.7. I was trying out the exhaust brake and it seems to be inconsistant and makes almost like a squeely sound with the deep exhaust brake sound. Does anyone know if that is normal?

Is the truck deleted? If so the whistle sound will be normal. If not you may have a exhaust leak. But it's really hard to tell what you are hearing over the interwebs.

It is not deleted... yet. I am afraid it is an exhaust leak. I will have to inspect the manifold closely. I will also try to get an audio clip

I also think my wife and I noticed the rubber burning smell in the cab of an incomplete regen the other night. Would it be possible to smell in the cab if there is not an exhaust leak?
