I want to install 2016 wheels (17") from a Gen 4 Ram1500 on my 93 D150. Bolt pattern is the same on both and I know that the offset is different, but I've read here and in other groups conflicting accounts: 1) I will need two-inch spacers and 2) I will not need spacers. Has anyone on the forums actually installed later generation wheels on a first gen truck? If so, what did you do?

I have tried 2006ish wheels (8lug) on my 93 W250. 2" spacers were a good match. Without, they interfered with the steering links.

Fwiw, the track width front vs rear is 2-3" different on a 93-older truck, so you may want different thickness spacers front/rear to balance it out.

I've been running a set of 8 holes on my 1988 D250 Western hauler bed .
The are the Chrome Steal wheels Same shape as the Chrome over aluminum that are on my 2000 D250 EXTENDED CAB Haul Truck..
I did not need spacers. & Everyone says they look fantastic.

The chromed steel wheels from a 2ndgen 2500 are only 6.5" wide so they're more forgiving on the fit.

The wheels OP is talking about are at least 7.5-8" wide, and that extra is on the inboard side.

Newer wheels I am thinking about installing on my 93 D150 and the original wheels. Just by looking, I can tell the offset is drastically different. I was hoping someone on the forum has actually made the swap and could help me with sourcing the proper spacers.

Measure the backspace difference. Get that size spacer.

Edit: the rear axle is narrower than the front. You may want more spacer back there. Up to you.
