Must be missing something here but why pull tires and wheel liners????? I do mine from the top. Pull the coil packs and it usually takes me a good hour to do. U don’t happen to have a v-6 or a 4.7 do you?

Based on my personal experience and of others it appears the 5.7 Hemi has a reputation for being super easy on spark plugs. My 2010 came with Champion copper plugs and the change interval was 37,000 miles. I found they'd go 45K with not a hint of and issue. Strong coil packs make a difference.

My 2014 and 2019's spark plugs have a change interval of 100,000 miles and both use Chrysler number SP143877-AA plugs.

Because you dont have to lean over your engine to do it... for the guys leveled or lifted its not as easy as OEM height.

Its easier and faster when you're sitting on 37's with a lift... :) And why the heck would anyone want to work all hunched over anyways. ... LoL

Nope

Holy crap, you guys like to throw money away.!

Not sure how 70$ every 2 years counts a throwing money away. Its just basic maintenance.

I changed out the plugs in my 2012 at around 45k miles. Truck was still running well and the plugs looked fine. I replaced with Bosch Platinums and the truck was still running like a top when I sold it at 137k. I've used Bosch for years in most of my vehicles, and have no complaints and no reason to change.

I know this a Ram forum and I have a 2017 with a 5.7, and a 2019 Charger RT. Before the 2019 RT, I had a 2009 Charger Rt with 5.7. I I change the factory plugs at 150,000 miles and installed irridiums. No problems.I did not change coils or wires. I could not really tell any difference in performance and my millage stayed the same. I ride Harleys and red a test about irridiums. They tested alot of different plugs and checked head temperatures. The irridiums dropped the head temperature on the Harleys. It made about 10 degrees cooler on my bike. They seem to pull cylinder temperatures down really well. This was the only place I've ever seen a test like this. I've been sold On them ever since. I even use them in my small engines.

I did it too with no problems on two different vehicles.Factory coils are hard to beat on Ram and Challenger that I changed the plugs on

My 2011 2500 4 door crew cab 2 wheel drive 5.7 hemi calls for a LZFR5C-11G spark plug with a 1.1 mm (.043 in.) gap and a torque of 13 (+ or - 2) foot pounds according to my service manual thumb drive which I purchased from MOPAR Tech Authority. I have replaced my own plugs and with that special tool referenced above it is not that bad of a job and I did it from the top.

I may live to regret this, but I just can't hand over $400 for spark plugs. I ordered plugs and the flex tool today. If I hurt myself, I hurt myself. It'll hurt less then spending the extra $300 to pay someone else to do it.

My 2015 took the NGK 92145 laser iridiums

$96 from RockAuto. The Gearwrench 80546 tool was worth every penny

A topside creeper made life easier for me, and it did take a couple hours to do, but wasn't that bad.

Take your time, and make sure to have enough beer on hand.

Ive done it from the wheel well and from the top. Takes about an hour to 90 minutes. Its just the angle your body has to be in that sux, the change of the plugs itself is pretty straight forward. Good luck!!
