I’m about to change the plugs in my 2014 Ram with the 5.7 with 115k miles.

Even though I’m mildly mechanically challenged, I think I can pull it off after watching a couple videos. I found a socket that swivels to reach the back plugs.

What plugs do you guys recommend for replacements ? Stock, old man truck.

Look at Rock Auto for the NGK Ruthenium HX plugs.

I'd also check over your intake plenum bolts as they tend to loosen up.

You may want to check the PCV valve, too, and either clean it thoroughly or replace altogether.
Good time to also remove your throttle body and give it a really good deep clean & slap on a new OEM gasket as well.

DO NOT buy plugs from Amazon or Ebay, DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT.

NGK 92145 are the OE laser iridium plugs. Rock Auto has them for $6 ish each. Have heard the Ruthenium plugs mentioned above are good.

The 5/8 magnetic swivel socket from Amazon is a must have. Sorry, I don't have a link for it.

Yep, old school indeed!

I remember my Uncle teaching me back in the day to use his long screwdrivers to isolate noises in the engine in vehicles and farm equipment for diagnostic purposes.
He had different ones of varying lengths and sizes for different diagnostics (plus a bottle of sip-n-sherry tucked away for sips...as required ;)).

I changed them once at 6k to change to the plugs procharger included with a complete kit . Now at 36 k I did the same plugs and a belt.Runs noticeably better.
If you're changing them that often why don't you swap to a copper plug Dan.Copper plugs are still the most efficient plug, and are noticably cheaper.Only downside is they should be changed about every 30,000 miles
I've had good luck with 3381 Denso's ,they're 2 steps colder then stock

It was dyno tuned with that plug and I’m too happy with the performance but always nervous about the trans.

As long as your tuner kept lots of torque management in place the 70 seems to be good to at least 600 lb-ft,it'll live at upwards of 700 if he added more torque management.
We blew up my first 70 by leaning on the transmission until it said f l u c k you,but that was before anybody had figured out how to tune the 70 to live, now with lots of torque management this transmission has been living for the last 7 years at 572 rear wheel torque, this tranny has about 500 passes and 35,000 miles on it. But it was a learning curve on the first transmission, that cost me more money then i like to remember, lol.
I'm running the older coil boots that do away with the resistor with the 3381's gapped at 0.032 and the engine seems to like that combo both on and off the track

I don’t have a decent trans tune yet,I bought SW headers and exhaust system and was waiting for that tune to straighten it all out.My guy does 90% vettes but promised a trans tune.

Any tuner that doesn't specialize in Dodges and their 8 speeds scares me.Ever thought of hunting up somebody that specializes in Chyrco products instead of a cross over tuner.
Chyrslers neural network flumixs alot of tuners that don't specialize in tuning them.

Pull the front wheels and inner fender liners, it then becomes easy to access all the spark plugs. Much more comfortable than standing on your head to get the job done. The worst one that I found was #8 ..... it was nasty. All the others were easy with access through the fender well.

That 8-speed shares a whole lot with the 8-speeds in Chevys and Fords. A few tweaks can make them last a whole lot longer than stock!

I absolutely agree with that,my situation is centered around the vette builds and a certain amount of loyalty is required on my part. It’s been repaid numerous times over.
