Parked my truck in a public garage and now I have stain on the hood. It was raining that day so I'm assuming there was a leak in the garage that dripped down onto my truck. Didn't notice it until the following day. The stain on the hood is rainbow colored kind of like when oil is spilled on the ground. Then gets lighter as it goes down the side. Any ideas what it could be and how to remove it.13558A64-5E58-424A-8F3B-BB6606DD9A5E.jpegA5604A7D-D11D-4E2F-8B75-0913E00EC489.jpeg40195311-9761-4009-A1A4-B7238D903B03.jpeg6C22D98E-FBFF-47CA-93FA-7B4D06E8D2E6.jpeg50D1C873-D8F2-4807-B839-EB9EB493F463.jpeg13558A64-5E58-424A-8F3B-BB6606DD9A5E.jpeg

Would be good to know what was done already?

Wash with regular car wash soap, if not...
Wash with dish soap, if not...
Try some kind of surface prep solution like Chemical Guys Clean Slate or a paint work decontaminating spray.

Do not use any dish soap lol .... whatever landed on your hood was very alkaline and thus etched itself into the clearcoat ... Wash your truck with a good soap, get Meguiar's ... then get some white vinegar and with a new microfiber towel apply the vinegar to all your hood, you can work in 2x2 or 4x4 areas, the vinegar removes any hard water spots etched in your paint, if that doesn't work then then stain went in all the way into your basecoat ...

But the white vinegar should remove that .... try it!

I had the same thing happen to mine at a brand new parking garage. It was full of condensation and dropped all over, my truck was covered with it. I had to wash it, clay bar the whole thing and then polish it to get it off. The only thing I couldn’t save was my hood decal. It just etched it too much.
