isnt it hot up there in NY this year?
my parents have the 4.7 durango and when its real hot out it starts but then itll die, most its done was 4 times in a row, let it sit for an hour and fired right up.
i used to have that problem in my 5.7 (though it never did it multiple times, started and died then started up no problem) but i also heard restarting the PCM helped, so i did that and hasnt done it for me since.

actually been raining last few days and cool out here in NY. I set my tune back to stock because i didn't want the dealership changing the computer settings and locking me out of my tuner again that was a 100 dollar mistake last time my truck was there .after I did that then it fired up about 15 min later been running since its going into the dealership tomorrow morning

ok went to the dealer today they charged me to look at the truck and said they couldn't find anything wrong no codes nothing and couldn't get the problem to repeat .I'm really worried that this starting problem might get worse they said if it happens again bring it back and they will look at it but I don't want to wait for that to happen and get stuck somewhere . when you set the computer back from a tune to stock does it wipe whatever codes might have been there when this issue happened I'm kinda new to this stuff any advice would be greatly appreciated

Most tuners reflash the file and clear the codes when it does it. Whats your mileage and last tune up?

Seems more common these days Butch. If they don't find it they charge a diag fee, if it's covered they charge you nothing, but if it's not many shops apply the fee to the repair. They do this to keep you from using them to find the problem and then doing the repair yourself or elsewhere. It sucks.

didn't really mind the diagnostic fee they are a business and I understand that .I had a tune up at 50000 I'm at 59 right now I always do regular oil changes and stuff . the truck is running and starting ok now I'm just concerned about what might have caused it
