Just about everyone uses canbus these days. What are you referring to?
2015 on the Ram truck canbus system was a failure that year for the entire truck nothing but problems. Ram has used a new and different canbus 2015 was only year with problem so no longer will use that system based on that design. Yes they still use canbus but not that type sorry if you got confused.

2013 was the design overhaul. I was not aware of any major changes in 2015 and the only issues I have had with mine have been airbag clock spring, mechanical failures.

Your first post said 2015 was bad and that your 2013 was good. What does any of that have to do with the 2012 the OP is asking about?

Just as some more proof of care is everything..

Took my 2012 cross country for a road trip. Truck now has just over 162000, after traveling 5500 for the trip. Attached is the calculated mpg also. Which I find awesome considering we did almost 50/50 city and highway.228bdad067776f5be3b326ffe692f557.jpg6489beb2d5df22ad482bc0913c8962be.jpgb73f3369e6573e405f54c9d09398b15d.jpg

You are wasting your time talking to him. He is in his own little world.
You dont still get it ask anyone 2015 year is a problem but have you tried to connect any lights to your truck then you will know . Also lots of company,s don't even want to deal with 2015 because of the canbus in that year alone . again sorry you have that system in your truck .just from my own little world later

So we're talking anecdotal evidence collected by.... you? Not very scientific and definitely not empirical. And you're the first person I've ever heard say that for some odd reason, the 2015 model got a different canbus system.

But hey, everyone has to believe in something. I believe I'll have another DDP with my buddy the Easter Bunny while we hold a chair for the Tooth Fairy.

Ok, ok. I admit it. You win. I just can't sleep at night due to the canbus system in my 2015. Lmao

I don't know about anyone else but I would be wary of an 8 year old truck with only 44,000 miles on it. Why so few miles on it?
I thinks a Carfax report might be a good idea on this one.

I'm sure this was beat to death already, but I turned in a 2012 with 31K miles on it. It was not a daily driver. I also had no issues with my 2012, from pickup to trade-in....Not even the infamous third brake light leak and it never saw the inside of a garage. That's why I got another RAM.

But....what does that have to do with 2012's? Did someone ask about 2015's somewhere in this thread, and you were answering them specifically? Otherwise, your post is irrelevant. The thread is titled, "stay away from a 2012 what do i need to know about this year" so information about a 2015 is not relevant.

If the thread was titled "what do I need to know about 2015 rams" or "what to look out for when looking at 4th gen rams", then by all means, your post could be relevant and helpful. That wasn't the case here, unless I missed where someone asked about 2015's?

I read what you wrote, quite frankly sometimes it can be hard to interpret what you are writing due to your grammar. I still don't see the relevance of your information, can you answer me what problems with a 2015 have to do with 2012 rams? If you saw a thread specifically about 20" rims, would you post up some random info about 18" wheels? If so and that's just your thing, that's cool I guess.

I'm just imagining a real life conversation like this... "hey what do you know about problems with 2012 rams?".... "well I sure know that 2015's have issues with the canbus system" ....."oooooook thanks?"
