Steering column compatibility

I have a 1973 w100 and would like to swap in a newer steering column. the one I have is out of a 86 ram or 89 ram and my question is on the wiring. the plug is the same but is it going to be plug and play as far as the electrical connection goes?

I am aware of the other changes that will need to be made.

If it is an '86 the wiper controls were still in the dash, '89 they moved to the turn signal stalk so you would need to figure that out. You should be able to change the pinout on the plug if you have the wiring diagram.

I have a Haynes manual but it is lacking much to be desired in the wiring diagram for the later year models.
I am debating a aftermarket gear selector or using one from a 86 and up model as I am making a whole costume dash.
