Hey guys, installing steering wheel audio controls on my 2015 express. I ordered what I believe to be the correct parts, but for whatever reason the switches don't match the keying. Well, they're both keyed the same and the wiring harness faces the wrong way if installed on the right and they don't fit on the left.

Are these switched actually different in some way or can I just dremel the notches so they go in right? I just never know with all the canbus and whatnot.

Thanks in advance

I am no help
but IMO E Bay sent you the wrong parts !
You should not have to trim the parts to fit !

Are you prior Military ?
The name Greenweenie was a common saying we used in 71 LOL

Hey guys, no, unfortunately I'm not former military. I wanted to enlist in the navy after high school by my mom wouldn't have it. It's rooted in a nickname for my first Dodge back in high school, a 93 cummins which was green.

So, what's really weird is I've been looking at other ebay listing for these switches and if you zoom in, EVERY ONE has the key notches in the wrong spot. I'm super confused. I might have to just get the OEM switches but those are over $200 together!

Well, you're currently being visited by the big green weenie!

That said, I think your issue is likely entirely due to not being OEM. They may have sent you two of the same part but hard to say. I can say those steering wheel controls are reversible (you can flip them around in thw housing if you want volume and/or seek to switch there up down direction (at least with OEM).

Ok guys so I got OEM switches, everything is back together now. But, they don't work. Is there something OBD related or otherwise I would need to monkey with to make them work? I'm using one of those Junsun head units. I have an email into them for support, but I'm seeing comments online about needing to use AlfaOBD for something, or even an issue with clockspring campatability. I looked on RockAuto, the differentiator I see on the clock spring is whether or not there is steering wheel heat. My truck does not have steering wheel heat. Any ideas guys?

I logged into Alfa OBD, the only setting I could find related to the steering wheel was Audio Steering Wheel Switch Configuration, but it only had the option to switch between "Brand Focus Steering Wheel" and "Core Steering Wheel." I'm waiting to hear back from Junsun, in the mean time I might yank the steering wheel and look at the clock spring. I'm wondering of the spring itself doesn't have the correct number of contacts?

It should be plug and play. I'm curious, can you plug the factory radio back in to check function?

I added them to my 2013 and just added them to my 2023 classic. I just installed them and they worked instantly on both

Ok so I looked at my clock spring and it is not a current part number (68459548AA), I had it replaced a few years ago when some of my steering wheel buttons quit working and I'm wondering if it's not compatable with the audio controls. I know it's a stretch but it's the only thing I can think of. I'm going to talk to the dealer parts department tomorrow to see.

Well, guy at the parts counter was about as helpful as I would have expected. By that I mean he shrugged at me and I ordered a new clock spring to try. I’ll let you know.

Benny @AllMoparParts.com will be able to get you the correct part.
