It was inevitable. I wonder what their sales were on the Classic trim.

Even the union president and people know what a piece of S**^ Tavares is and aren't afraid to tell him....he's on borrowed time unless they dissolve the brand all together.

Just a thought the workers had to know the Classic was on borrowed time. Maybe Stellantis convert plant for other stuff tho doubt it seeing how the brand does Marketing etc. All IMHO.

Highly doubtful this pile of a CEO can make anything useful at this point. It seems like its a downward spiral until hes canned.

Honestly I don’t feel bad for the people that installed obviously bunk parts and also the quality control / final look over people that built my 2022 that held a $50,000 tag for a tradesman. Wayyy to many bad trim / body parts and mechanical parts as well at mile 0

I did like the Gen 5 classic having owned two of them, my 2015 single cab with the Hemi was one of the best trucks I've ever owned, but truthfully, the minute I got into and drove a 2019 "new" ram it was like night and day, everything across the board was better, I still believe they should have kept producing the classic, however, as they can be had cheaper, maybe their time had just come to go away?

Part of shuttering second shift is the overpriced Jeep Wagoneers that are built at that plant are not selling. It was probably the Classic trucks that required the plant to run the second shift.

I will keep my Classic until the wheels fall off. This "new" overpriced series of trucks have so many quality control issues it's unbelievable..
And of course they are made in Mexico.

I don't know the market in detail, but it seems odd to drop the lower end/ priced products given so many businesses and people are struggling financially and the demand for 80-100k trucks has fallen off a cliff. Just seems like this company is lost...

New tracks- who can afford theM ?> My recent visit to the Ram dealer for the fuel pump recall was surprising . Truck priced between 70,000 and 95,000 - I can't afford that.
Even Tundra truck are 65,000 +.

I beg to differ with your opinion of Unions. But you are certainly entitled to tour opinion, as am I.

It wont be the end of the layoffs. Unfortunately, the govt mandated direction of car and truck manufacturers to produce EVs and listening to Sean Feins UAW BS will eliminate more than those 2450 positions. The hard working men and women working on combustion engine trucks and cars will all be replaced by robo workers sooner than later. The Govt and Feins leadership will have done all them in.

Unions are for the lazy that rather whine instead of finding a better job for themselves.

They made their bed and now will have to lie on it :banghead:
