I found out what the delay is, there wanting a whole roof. Rather than the front 1/4 of a roof section I currently have. I had offered up what came with the truck when I bought it. I really wanted a full roof myself, I was afraid of oil canning. And ending up with a massive amount of body filler used in the repair. So later on, I would have cracks apear in the paint.
I went looking this afternoon. I found 1 and 1 only, in all of Jacksonville,Florida. A couple of months ago the yards had a fair share of trucks to pick from. There has been some crushing going on since the first of the year. I can buy this 1 roof with no rust anywhere, dent free for $125.00. That is with me doing the removing, which I perfer.
I did score a brand new hood release cable for $8.50, and LMC wanting $44.00 for there's. Ken

My truck is all cleaned up from sitting in the garage waiting. So in the morning we are headed south to Deland,Fl. to drop it off . And let the rusty holy roof begone. And hopefully a nice with out to much body filler nice rust free roof in a short while. Then back home for some nut & bolt panel replacement. And back for paint. The core support and left inner fender is really rusted from years of the Chrysler over charging genny. So all the boiled over battery acid has eat it's way through the front of the inner fender and core support. Much easier to replace. After cutting them in with color. Ken

Well bad news from body shop. The replacement roof I sent with my truck, looked good BUT. It had seen some repair in its past, and has rust damage underneath the top skin. Which my body guy says will cost a bunch to fix, and to try and find another one. So far I haven't found anything here in Florida.
So if anyone has a Cab that has a good roof that they are willing to part with. Along with being somewhat close to Jacksonville,Fl. pull my chain Please!!!! Thank You Ken aka hole roof

if there's no objection to not keeping things as original as possible, could you just look for a replacement cab instead of just the roof skin? might be easier to find.

No worries because I have both a 1987 Ramcharger project and the 1990 Dodge Ram W150 rusty roof project.
Update 3/3/2022 I have spent way to much time looking a computor screens. I have settled on a candidate for rust free cab parts. The donor truck is a 1988 Dodge W150 Short Bed, that is very much rust free truck from Macon, Ga. Its the same body color as my truck a huge thing. Same color interior huge plus, the truck is missing its doors, hood, both frt. fenders, the inner sections of the grille, the shiney outer part is still attached to the core support. The engine and transmission are there along with transfer case. The owner tells me the trans leaked ATF when engine is running. Steering column, sliding back glass, windsheild, wiring harness, running gear. So I'm listing this which I hope not to get in trouble. I will be wanting to part ways with items I don't need or want.
I will mark the items I plan on using with a star.
I'm headed up on Monday morning. A side note, I was quoted prices from two savage yards close to Atlanta, Ga. at $1200.00 for a Gen. 1 Dodge DW150 Roof panel. And it may have some slight surface rust. I told the guy on the phone I would most likely pass on one of those roof's. Trying my hardest not to come across in a bad way. He said in Canada there bring crazy money. I don't have any Crazy money at this time.

Good Morning folks. I need a little help. I don't see colors the same as others I have been told many times. I looked for a light green 1964 Dodge 2 door I spotted for sale. I looked for 6 months. Turns out the car was Blue, I was so far off. Everyone was missing the car right in front of us.
My 1990 Ram PK W150 has been repainted and is a nice color of red I think. The paint code is for a white. The 1988 W150 I just bought is the same color, I think. But I have no vin plate, core support is already gone. I think its ( DR5 ) Graphic Red or ( CR6 ) Garnet Red. My money is on Graphic Red, what do you think??

Update on my 90 W150. The replace roof is installed and waiting on me to get unbusy. It needs the interior finished before wrapping up the outside.
Like installing the sound deadener stuff, repainting the inside roof. repainting all the trim and replacement dash to match. Then install new windshield.
It was 50% off at all the local pick and pulls. I took full advantage of the deals. I came home with a rust free left front inner fender. Hard piece to find here in Florida, they mostly have battery acid damage. So I can paint to match the new/used core support and inner fender.
Also brought home a instrument cluster and the bezel. The bezel is the type with wood grain . With no tab's broken off.
And the biggest find was a stepside bed for my ****** truck 1997 Ranger. Its needed a bed for a very long time. No rust just beat to death. The price for these goodies was $145.00 a deal for sure.
And I sold my extra short bed from the parts truck I bought in Ga. this weekend also so i'm up a few hundred.

MAN i WISH we had some scrap yard that were pick & pull.
I'd like to search for a lot of little parts .
But the only one we have ... The guys that controls it .. Won't let anyone inside it.
I'm LUCKY he likes me . & I'm an old so most of the times He'll give me a ride inside & let me see what in there .
But he won't let me drive in & see if I can find the part I want .
But he sure knows how to charge . 50 TO 70% OF WHAT A NEW PART SHOULD COST.
... so I just do my best to keep an eye out for any old project trucks that I can buy at my price.
Lucky I live in the country & have 150ac place so I have a place where called Bronco Row where I drop off my old trucks .
