Hey everyone, so I am debating the 8” drop Bulletproof Hitch Extreme to a 6” drop. I don’t want to drag the ground with it so what is everyone else using?

I tow boats, horse trailers and campers but not with this truck yet.

Advise please.

My other truck is a ‘96 5.9L Cummins 350k miles and still going strong.

What year will it be? If it’s a 2.5” hitch you may want the 2.5” shank.
I’ve pulled with this for 3 years now with now problems. I have a 2015 Mega 2500 4X4. The 10” doesn’t drag on the ground at all. My work trailer uses it at one space up from the lowest to be level.

I just bought the 10" one - I only want to buy one, and my car trailer sits pretty low and flat, and I expect to go up 2" with tire size soon enough and didnt want to buy another. I measured and doubt it will drag...

I paid a bit more and got an adjustable one from etrailer.com, a "Weigh Safe" drop hitch, 8" drop/8" rise.

So yea sorry did this post last night from my phone. Anyways updated my SIG today. 2018 Ram 2500HD I6, 68RFE Shortie Crew 4x4. I am looking at the BulletProof Extreme Hitch 8" drop. 30k towing on the 2 5/16" ball and 12k on the 2". https://www.bulletproofhitches.com/product/ed258/ I think that will transverse well over into any other truck as well. Thanks for the demo roddenby51. The visual helps a lot.

I bought an adjustable one with a 10" drop but, You also need to consider the height of the trailer.

OK, I just walked out into the driveway with a tape measure...

On my '98 RAM 2500, leveled front/stock rear, 35" tires, I used a drop hitch set at 6" to pull my utility trailer (typical stock height) with the frame reasonably level.

On my '12 RAM 2500 CTD, stock suspension, stock tires, pulling the same trailer, I'm using the same hitch set to 4".

My stinger is a Reese drop hitch with a Reese tall adapt-a-ball (or whatever they call it)...

My truck - stock...the wheels are 33" ... I got the 10" drop Billet ALumn hitch (20lbs :) ) .... it is exactly what I needed for my car trailer. glad I didn't get the 8" one...as I am 1 hole from the bottom in keeping it level.

I got the Curt 10" drop for my equal-i-zer WD hitch that I pull my 27 foot TT with. I can still go down a notch if I ever need to (bigger tires and/or some lift), and I have a good 8" or so below the bottom of the dropper as it sits right now. I'd go take a pic but the hitch isn't in the receiver right now, and it happens to be raining like a *****. You'll have to take my word for it haha.

Remember if you go with the 2.5” shank.. it can’t disapear into ur family’s or buddies trucks unless they have a 2.5 receiver lol. I have the same one as mad dog... funny / when we traded for the 1500, I ordered the 2”shank with 6” drop and transferd the rest of the hutch over, still got my 2.5” shank/ 8 drop sitting in the garage... “ Shhh saving it for my next HD”
