Not necessarily. And by “control arms”, Im assuming you are talking about the upper a-arms?

Sorry yes.
I think a 2 inch increase would be ok but just wanted some opinions

2-2.5” is the grey area where you will be pushing it from what I understand.

Run the stock one for as long as it lasts... then when its time, replace it with a better one.

17,000 miles is what I got out of my Upper control A arms (passenger side) using a 2” rough country preload spacer kit.

Did the BJ’s go bad or they push out or what?.....symptoms?

It sounded like metal on metal squeaking. Once I pulled the factory arms out yesterday, I found a bad bearing assembly. I put the ReadyLift 2” leveling kit “A arm” kit on top of the 2” preload spacer I had already installed and got 3.5” of lift in the front. It’s oddly raked in the front to back so tomorrow I will be trying to add rear coil spring spacers from an 18”. Wish me luck. Will post my results.
