Is there a preferred vendor on here who sells a stubby antenna for a 2013 ram hemi?
Also Is there a downside to doing this? I like to look of it but down want to lose any reception for the radio.

I bought a cheap version of the stubby antenna and it was absolutely great. Reception was ten times better then the old metal one on an old Bronco. It was like 10 bucks at Kragen. It had no form to it, it was like rubber. I couldn't care either way but for what it's worth I remember when I drove the antenna was floppy. Never paid it no mind cause the reception was simply amazing.

Craven speed is in the vendor forums. I had a cheap short one from auto zone and it made an awful howl that others experienced as well. Bought the craven speed stubby off amazon and howls gone.

How do you install these things? Just screw them on?
Yes, just screw them on.

I bought a 3" cheapie at PEP Boys, seems to work pretty well, no wind noise.

The radio still works, but I don't listen to the radio that much anymore,
I doubt any shorty antenna works as well as a long one.

I just unscrewed the stock one , removed the ball tip, cut it down to about 4", reinstalled the tip and screwed it back on. That was free and no wind noise.

The antenna that I had was about twice the size of Johnny's, for whatever that is worth. Again great reception.

This, only I left a lot more. IIRC, I cut off 12". I wanted to cut some, but be much lower than the top of the cab. I didn't want to lose reception -- as others have posted. I also painted mine black.

You'd think Ram would figure out how to hide the stupid FM antenna like everyone else... and make the XM work more than 25% of the time like everyone else too!

I know right?

My 98Grand Prix has no mast antenna. It's built into the rear windshield.

My 01 Buick I just sold for the truck had one bulit into the front windshield.
