Just updating this thread. Still no truck. Entries in the Saltillo yard log were updated with an entry for hail damage on April 13 with this being resolved on May 15. Multiple entries of the truck moving within the yard.

IF it ever shows up, I will be curious how many miles it will have on it. And, what sort of repairs have been done.

D
Great info. Thanks for posting. I'm still waiting too and will check for this type of damage.

I ordered a RAM 1500 the first of July 2022. The truck was built and awaiting shipment before the end of August, but by the week after Thanksgiving it was still sitting in Mexico so I told the salesman to cancel the order. What could they do, it had been almost 5 months since I ordered. So I waitied until right after the first of January and ordered again, except this time I ordered a 2500. The following week they called and said the 1500 was in. Why do I care, I'm waiting on a bigger truck now. I don't know what they did with the original 1500, but my 2500 came in within 8 weeks. I think someone kicked someone else in the a** to make sure the secind order didn't get cancelled too.

Just doing my monthly update. Nothing but crickets. On July 8th, it will be 5 months since the truck was built. The 2024 models can be ordered. Seriously considering doing this.

I find it interesting RAM is still promoting 2022 models and we are heading into the 2024 model year.

Whatever happened to the days when the new model year didn't come out until Sep/Oct? It's getting earlier every year. Soon you'll be able to order a 2030 model in 2025.

Don't blame you there.

Agreed. The '23 model year was a short one. When my 22 was delivered last October, you couldn't order a '23. Now 8-9 months later, you can only order 24's. Covid stuff, I guess.

Maybe it was in one of those trains loaded with new vehicles that derailed a while back or it could be still sitting in MX waiting for the rail car to your district to get full or who knows what when it comes to the rail road...

I don't understand why Saltillo is going to send your Ram to the dealership to have the Grid Heater Recall done, while the truck is still sitting in Saltillo

Saltillo likely has Hundreds of the Grid Heaters in stock
The dealer maybe receives 2 or 3 a week & they have a long waiting list of Rams that need to get the recall done.

Cancel the order at this point. Even if it shows up, do you want a hail damaged 'new' truck that has been sitting outside for months?

Reorder a 2024 in the configuration you want, and tell the dealer that you've already paid your deposit, and they can apply your 2022 deposit to the 2024 order.

Hello everyone. New to the site and this is my first post. I have always been a Dodge car and Ford truck guy. I decided to switch to the RAM for 2023 primarily due to the Cummins engine.

My 3500 Longhorn Limited was ordered on 10/29/22 and built on 2/8/23 with a scheduled delivery of March 25, 2023. As the date arrived it was switched to TBD. I was told it was due to the 13A recall issued on 2/9/23. I am still at a TBD delivery for the truck and am told the parts department at my dealer has had the parts for this recall for weeks now.

As I searched the forum it became evident that nothing comes out of Mexico quickly as there are many threads on this topic. Hail damage, added trucking demands, cartel, etc. are just some of the reasons.

My dealer tells me other Cummins powered trucks built after mine have been delivered which leads me to believe something else is holding up delivery besides the 13A recall. I heard yesterday at the dealership it may have something to do with the LED headlights?

Is anyone else experiencing this same delay of delivery?

Blame the problem on the prez, stale bread, and babies being born naked! ;)

I went to the dealer today and ordered a 2024. My hope is it can get entered and built in July/August. The summer is half done already and I may not see the 2023 until September now. Either way the truck will sit through the winter and I would rather have the newer model year versus a nearly year old truck.

I was able to order the two tone paint on the 2024. Pretty much the same package otherwise.

The race is on, which one will get here first! The saga continues.

Glad you did. You'll be much happier this way, and never have to wonder about that year the truck spent in the desert, hail damage, etc.

UPDATE: The truck has arrived. 9 months after ordering and 6 months after it was built. The RAM tracking site still shows a TBD for delivery.

The truck looks like it was in the BAJA 1000. Covered with dust and mud inside and out. 26 miles on the clock and 4 hours on the engine. I am curious if all trucks out of this plant arrive in this condition?

The truck is available as I am going to wait on the 2024. It was ordered on 7/11/23. If the same schedule holds true, I expect it in March of 2024.

Tic toc, tic toc, the waiting starts over.

Down in Salitillo, Mexico
They began building 2024 Ram 2500 & 3500 models, on July 10, 2023

If it follows previous years, we will be able to view the 2024 Ram prototypes at the Texas State Fair.

Auto Show has not began until October in other years
The Fairs dates are September 29 - October 22
They have not sold cars at the Fair, in the past

You may notice that the 2024 Rams on display at the Fair, do not have VIN #s

I ordered my 2023 2500 in Jan and it arrived in Mar. When I picked it up it was spotless.

Well, the 2024 model year is moving at a much faster pace at the moment than 2023. My 2024 is built with a tentative dealer delivery of 11/15/23. We will see....

Hey, all may work out well and U may be even more happier. Did U lose any money U put down to order the 23 when U did not take delivery?

I had originally ordered a2022 1500 in July 2022. It was built by the end of August, and it was still sitting in Mexico gathering dust and bird crap in December - so I cancelled the order. In January this year, I ordered a 2023 2500 - it was delivered mid-March. I'm guessing they didn't want a repeat.
