Hello all. Love the site. Just usually come and read. A few issues over the last 20 months of my new to me first time Ram. So far happy. Last night my wife called me underground at work ND said that she had picked the kids up at school and the truck stuck in reverse. She got a friend to take her and the kids home and I went at 3 this morning to look at it. The shift lever wouldn't budge at all. You know how you pull it back toward yourself? It wouldn't even do that. It wouldn't start because it was still in gear but the keys came out of the ignition like it was in park. All lights and gauges worked with key on. Read inline about a hole under the column clamshell that would override the electronic brake release. I used a small screwdriver and wha la. Released. Checked this morning and still works fine. I can hear a clicking in the clamshell when I touch the brake which is I'm assuming the safety brake interlock and a click when I pull back on the shifter. Hope it doesn't do it again and showed the wife what to do if it ever does it again. Anyone else ever had this trouble? Is it something in there that is going bad that I need replaced? Battery maybe. It shows 12 volt when keys are on and 14 running. Thanks for the help.
