It seems to be a very common problem with exhaust manifold studs breaking on the 5.7 and later hemis. Why do they break? Is it a material problem? Is it a heat cycle problem? Can't it be overcome with proper materials of manufacture, or methods of manufacture. Why doesn't someone like ARP come up with replacement studs to eliminate the possibility of breakage? My apologies if this has already been discussed ad nauseum.

I think it's a material problem.

Heard they were revised at some point for increased strength not sure when. Exhausts with out adequate flex point(s) can cause issues also.

I believe someone from here talked to arp and they said it wasn't worth it I believe. It's been a problem for over a decade now.
