Well that's the trick, keeping everything stock looking is tough and guys looking to get serious will lose some of seat usability or cut the floor pan. Yes the foxbox is good at what it does but really it flexes and that's losing output. But if you are willing to give up floor space yes you can do a lot better with a custom box. Heck I'd put my 1 12 in my reg cab up against any foxbox and I'd bet dollars to donuts mine will sound better and get louder without anything but gains set with a 40hz test tone. Only reason I know this is foxbox will start chuffing when really pushing some air. Like 2000w+ to your type Rs will chuff like no one's business.

ok I will take the bait tell us about this 12 you have ?

Thanks for the feedback guys, I mainly listen to rock/metal and my setup as of now sounds decent but when it comes to hip hop it sounds like garbage, I am a man on a budget and I'm not going to pay $350 for a enclosure that is insane, I may try the polyfill, how much should I stuff in there

Hey there,

if you are open to swapping boxes... for new subs.. consider these a set of Audiomobile Evo 2410's, i cant remember the exact requirements but it is minimum 0.5-0.6 cubic ft per sub, i run 2 10 inch 2410's and they are quite impressive for a shallow mount, i tried a couple other shallow mount subs and hated them.... got rid of them in less than a week.

my old truck i used to run 2 JL12w6's which took up the back seats of my old extended cab, this time i wanted something that sounds as close to these as i could but not sacrifice any room, the evo's got me that, high excursion shallow mount, i've had Rockford / JL / Orion / Kicker / Kenwood / Matts Pro / Clarion etc and size vs performance the evo is my favorite sub to date.

Evo Series | Audiomobile

ps no i dont work for them i just love their subs lol, only mild gripe is they do demand a pretty good amount of power 500watt rms so need a bit of jam for 2 of them.

It's nothing super special, I just built the box to the sub and it boogies. Those alpines would do better in 1.5 cubes after displacement. Bet that move alone they will play lower and louder while still sounding good. Oh and my port size supports the amount of air the sub moves so no chuffing.

Ok you have lost total function of your rear area? I'm out . I do enjoy good tunes. & I've placed in competition years ago . Still love my tunes everyday. So I understand to a point. Forum + function = nirvana

And that is why I say net audio or build custom you can still have it all and a box built to the sub. Hop over to bradknobs build in his truck. He used some awesome drivers and was able to fit 3 12s without losing anything.
