I have an AD 500 series sub. It's rated for 350 watts RMS I believe and my amp outputs 300 watts RMS. I have it in a Kicker box, a shallow style one. Is the box restricting the performance potential of the sub? If so, what solutions do I have for a box for a reasontrable amount of money? I saw a box custom fit for the pockets under the back seats and it seems like a pretty good deal for 65 bucks. I'm still a bit of a noob when it comes to car audio.

Big question, what amp and what impedance is the sub?

If the sub and amp are matched together correctly and wired correctly, the next big thing to look at would be the box. Honestly the box plays as much of a part in creating sound as the sub does. I also have mine in a fox box and it’s real loud. Type R 10”, 500w RMS
