I'm getting American Force polished forged aluminum wheels on my truck next week and I was wondering what to use to protect them with? Wax or sealant? Looking for recommendations.

Are they bare aluminum or clear coated? Out of the two, definitely go with a sealant. I've had good results from Duragloss 105. The optimal situation would be to have them coated.

They are bare aluminum wheels. I just ordered Chemical Guys Max Coat sealant for them, but thanks for the Duragloss suggestion, I might try that if I don't like the Max Coat.

A ceramic coating will last much longer than a sealant.

From what I heard ceramic coating leaves the polished aluminum looking like it has a haze on it, sealant doesn't do that. These will be my summer wheels, so I don't need it to last longer then 8 months. I'll just do it every spring when I put them back on. I'm keeping my stock wheels for winter.

In your situation I agree that probably a sealant would do the job. I personally use Wolfgang Sealant and have had excellent results.

I wouldn't put ceramic coating on bare aluminum wheels. I would get them polished and clear coated first, then apply the ceramic coating. You'll get much longer protection.

Actually, just getting them clear coated would keep you from polishing them all the time as well.

Where would you get them clear coated, a paint shop?
