Hi community, I’ve been told the OEM tie rod and drag link on the 19 PW are pretty stout and replacing them with aftermarket is not needed even for serious off road use. I’m considering changing out to a Synergy tie rod and drag link. Any insights?

You should be okay with the redesigned link. Earlier models had a different design and are currently under a recall, but the fix is mind boggling to say the least. I was going to go with Synergy, but held out until I could get the OEM redesigned link.

Keep the factory stuff till it fails. Plenty on here have wheeled both those stock components in Moab and other places for weeks/months/years. All depends on how hard you're gonna best on them. No sense in buying new unless you know right off the bat what you intend on doing with the truck is gonna beat the hell outta em quick fast and in a hurry.

+1 for the "stick with stock" crowd.

Well it won’t really be stock. Lifting the front an inch with a full blown Carli lift with 2.5 shocks, with a Carli track bar and Radius arms to maintain factory geometry. Will run a Thuren rear track bar and bracket along with Thuren track bar end links Carli ball joints. A set of 37x12.5r17 Mickey Thompson Baja MTZp3 tires and a 4.56 rear gear to finish it off.

My 12 has the stock 4.56’s and with the stock 33’s it would light up the rear like it was a 69 Hemi GTX. Tried the 35’s and it helped, but even now with the 37’s it’ll still break loose easily. the ride is real nice with all the sidewall, and it’s a lot better on arrival departure angle’s. I think 4.88 would a better choice if I were to re-gear instead of a 5.13. With 37’s. A 40” tire definitely a a re gear to 5.13, to keep it performing like stock ratio number’s.

theres no need to mess with ball joints. eventually theyll need replaced but it wont be anytime soon. doesnt make sense tearing into them now

about the gears. with 37s i want my rpm high as possible in top gear. within reason of course but between 2200 and 2500 at 75mph would be good for me. closer to 2500 really would be my first choice. i think you have .67 top gear .where as the 6sp has .62. you can check a gearing calculator and decide for yourself
