It is looking like I will be attempting to swap my 8HP70 to a 8HP90, I am looking for some input from someone familiar with this job, a few questions I have....
Will my current flex plate be compatible with a torque converter made for a 8HP90?
What modifications have to be made to my current transmission support bracket?
Is the starter cavity on the driver or passenger side for the 8HP90?
Will my current fittings for my trans fluid cooler directly fit into a 8HP90, or is it a different style fitting?

Any input or advice is greatly appreciated.

Get ahold of Rick Tapp at Tapped Performance, you can find him on High Performance Rams and i think he might also be on Tuned Rams, both are facebook pages. He's done the 70 to 90 swap a few times now.You might get more info on the hi-po facebook pages then here. You can also check on 2011up 6.4 builds on facebook.
Other option is to have your 70 built,Sipple has them holding at over a 1,000hp

Thank you, I am done with the "built" 70s, tore up 2x of them back to back in a few month period(not built by sipple). I'll see if Rick can give me some info.

I know in the Challenger/Charger world, the 70 to 90 swap has been done a fair bit,but what all is entailed in doing it in a truck i'm not sure

I called tapped performance and all of my questions were answered. The flex plate that comes standard for the 8HP70 IS compatible with the 8HP90. The fittings for the trans fluid cooler are the same style. The transmission crossmember support with have to be slightly modified (I assume weld a metal plate to the end of it and drill out for bolt holes). And last thing I am aware of is that the driveshaft will have to be shortened.

Every wrecking yard I look only wants to sell the transmission with engine. While that's great I'm not looking to drop $20,000
