The temps the 8 speeds in the 2500's operate at,sure makes me question the temps the 8 speed runs at in the 1500's.There isn't a 1500 that'd run transmission temps under 200F towing 7500 lbs,but the 2500's are running 8 speed temps between 160 and 170 towing those loads. No coolant pre-heater on the 2500's or the cars 8 speed,just the 1500's run the coolant heater.My wifes 6.4 Challenger will take 50 miles at 70 mph on a 80F day before it hits 170F,and if we're out for an evening countryside tour after supper,and i'm running it at 50 mph,it will stay right around 160F on a 75 degree evening

The 2017 would climb right up to 185 no matter what the temp outside was so it seems they may have removed the heater on the GCs after 2017.

Its all about CAFE. Heating the trans temp to close to 200 gets .000000000000012312% better fuel economy and will most likely make it past the warranty period. The 2500s don't fall under CAFE (yet) so they don't care as much about fuel economy, they care more about towing specs for marketing.

Breemers and Mercedes have terrible reliability records. Google them.
Germans still won't accept reliability as a primary product attribute. Japanese did via American guidance post WWII.
Germans only do performance and innovation.
yeah well last years most reliable car list is mazda, toyota, and lexus in that order. So if you buy a lexus you pay more then toyota for same engine and frame only to get a less reliable car, doh. Mazda who new? Beemers drive like high performance cars, like track cars, they are the real deal, maybe not as reliable, but well engineered. Lexus drive like a sponge, good for daily freeway driving. but no better then a toyota just more money.

I wish my wife would get that exact suv, good balance, comfortable and sitable reliable and decent mpg's. The rav 4 maybe a lil better mpg but not as comfortable..

Lexus are better than Toyota in some ways - they do get a lot more features which possibly also contributes to their supposed unreliability as there is more to go wrong! They are very expensive though, but as a used car they aren't as bad. In some markets they get things you can't get in Toyota, like in Australia the Lexus LX570 (Landcruiser 200) was available with the top spec 5.7L V8 but the Toyota only had the 4.6L and the 4.5TD. We bought a 2011 Lexus RX350 Sports Luxury for my Mrs to drive as a dealer demo to replace her 2002 V2 Monaro (you guys would know these as the Australian built Pontiac GTO). She still has it, is as reliable as a Swiss watch. Compared to other 2011 vehicles it is packed with features that appear now on a lot of cars, like projector headlamps, radar cruise control, side cameras, heated and cooled seats etc. This one only has 120,000kM on it but I know of people with these cars with 500,000kM on them. What I really like is most parts are Toyota priced.

I thought I was gonna die like 10 years ago, I was diagnosed with pre diabetes as weak as that sounds, I assure you it can be serious. I suffered with such a lack of energy I could not accomplish anything, blurred vision as well. Tried everything except the butter diet, that just sounds stupid even though I had a friend on it. I suffered for two years til I found the blood type diet, or a version of it. I have been eating red meet for breakfast ever since, I literally have no energy on anything else. Kind of like how hemi tick evolved into some helpful information, this too is very helpful information. It is science stupid :) 85% of the population needs meet, that is o positive folks like myself. Someday you might find out how necessary it is when you get some disease and you cannot function properly without following the science, like we do with hemi tick. Note it doesnt say o should avoid dairy like others.

The blood type diet is legit and works very well; if you add intermediate fasting with the blood type diet the results are amazing. I combined the two and lost 50lbs over a one year period, had to cut my sugar consumption by about 90% too. I was at 245lbs, had inflammation in my joints, lower back pain and low energy; I weighed in at 193 yesterday and fell better every day. There's a guy on youtube Dr. Eric Berg worth looking at, I contribute most of my success to his videos.
Cutting the sugar was the main reason for your weight loss. Unused sugar is the easiest for the body to store as fat. It is amazing how much change can happen if people just cut out pop or soda...whatever you want to call it.

My non educated opinion, just cut out all the sugar and yes IF can also work great. But I don't subscribe to a particular diet after that, our ancestors ate what was there; that means meat and veggies and the occasional fruit depending on geographic location.

Our digestion is controlled by the bacteria in our gut, which is passed to us through our mother, a lot of it while we're being born. Which means, largely we eat and digest best what our ancestors did as we've had generations for our gut bacteria to evolve and be manipulated. If our ancestors never had much milk in our diet, then we won't be able to digest it all that well either.

But then we throw in disease, poor diet, and overuse of antibiotics and suddenly our gut is a mess. The diet that works for my family (brothers/sisters/parents) should work for me (due to that shared gut bacteria and heck, lets even thrown in blood type since we're all the same in my case), but it doesn't. There are foods I cannot tolerate at all. Sometimes we need these little specialized diets to reset our gut. GAPS/Keto/low carb can be useful for healing. Sometimes even odder ones like low FODMAP. But these should never be permanent unless we have a disease like celiac in which case gluten has to be eliminated.

But if we're healthy and want to stay that way, simply dropping all sugars is like 70% of the battle right there. Other tweaks (staying off refined foods and vegetable fats) brings you another good way there.

I hate it when people try a "fad diet" and then say they feel so much better and then praise the diet. 9 times out of 10 it's not the foods you're now eating, it's the foods you're avoiding (which is subtly different). A simple look at the diet will show that most of them have 1 big thing in common: no (or reduced) sugar. Further similarities often show up too, like reduced processed foods, and a heavier emphasis on (green) veggies.

Like hemi tick made me try some stuff to find answers and transmission shudder made me consider some others, same thing with blood type diet for me. I was trying some things, aging male with pre diabetes and no energy. Blood type diet changed my life, yes sugar was part of it, but bread is like sugar squared, if I eat bread I feel I am at deaths door.

It isnt based on no science, it is based on ailments that tend to effect groups and a diet tailored around that. O positive people tend to have high stomach acid, type A tend to have finicky immune systems, AB tend to have low stomach acid, etc etc. There is no doubt whether the blood type diets work, they do scientifically, the issue is that the diets literally work for everyone, so you can't prove the blood type aspect of it. They have done studies where everyone on the type A diet health markers were improved, not just type A. Anyhow, two people here have tried it, seams like hammer came out of the wood work to say so (where ya been), so something to consider.

For me literally, steak is the only thing I can eat for breakfast if I want to get work done. Not even chicken or pork, but I feel better on those then any "breakfast" food or fruit or vegetable. Steak and cold water, time to get after it.

Believe me, I'm not suggesting that that diet doesn't work for you. What I'm suggesting, is that despite the science surrounding a particular diet, we can't make conclusive prescriptions and say "diet X" is the best for the general population. Many of these other diets have just as many studies and scientific support for them.

I've been on this road for close to 30 years. I've seen all the doctors from Chiropractors to Naturalpaths to Family docs to GI Specialists attached to pretty big universities, each of them has different ideas on what to try and what will work and here I am 30 years later still "not fixed". I've tried pretty much the majority of the common diets, some of helped, one set me back years (master cleanse - DON'T try that one lol).

What is working best for me at the moment is low FODMAPs. Which is in direct conflict with the blood type diet. I'm type O so according to blood type I should be eating garlic, onions, broccoli, beans; and I can say without a doubt that just those 4 foods alone are enough to wreak havoc in me, despite even being healthy (brocolli?). So in my case it's not the food group (vegetable/protein), it's the type of carb that the vegetable gets broken down into. If I don't take digestive enzymes, I'm done. Part of those enzmes are ACV (apple cider vinegar) which is basically increasing my stomach acid and again, that's a major requirement for me especially while eating protein. The blood type diet suggests I should have enough, but I can say from years of experimenting that that is not the case.

Another interesting bit; in my case, it's not only the food, but when they're eat/combined together. I can eat steak, and I can eat plain rice, but throwing those 2 together (even reducing the quantities) is when bad things happen. That's because both those very simple ingredients require different enzymes and it's much harder on my system to ask it to digest carbs with proteins, or carbs with fats. I can eat proteins with fats though. The blood type diet doesn't (to my knowledge) say much about that, so that's one area where it's lacking for a start.

I also have to question the "high stomach acid" bit of that diet as many researchers are suggesting the opposite, the vast majority of us have low stomach acid (regardless of blood type). If you have acid reflux, good chance you're making it worse by taking PPI's even though initially it seems those might help (kind of like how a bandaid stops the bleeding but doesn't do anything for "why" you're bleeding in the first place).

For your comment about bread; that's correct, bread is very high carbs which gets broken down into sugar; the whiter the bread, the more quickly that happens, spiking your glucose levels and if you're (pre)diabetic that's bad news (after the hit, you have zero energy and are extremely fatigued). Reducing your intake of sugar to zero would require eliminating bread. Many of us don't need to get that strict however, some of us can replace the nutritionally vacant "white bread" with "whole grain" or "rye bread" or "Ezekial bread" etc, less sugar and more nutrition. I can't eat bread of any kind.

So basically what I'm suggesting: it's best not to fixate on a single diet and trust in it and nothing else. Many of these diets have science and studies showing how effective they are, and yet for others we do very poorly on them. I'm glad you found something that works for you, not suggesting you can't do great on it, just that it's not going to work for many people. Sometimes you need to piece bits together from various diets and see what works.

legumes is beans, says don't eat that for O. but I hear ya. Broccoli raw is always one of the harder veggi's to digest, I didnt see onions or garlic on the sheet, I guess I should look again

sorry man, we can't all hit the lotto with blood type. :) Maybe just incorporate some things instead of going all the way.

I've already outlived my ancestors, so maybe snap back by eating blood sausage daily for the remaining days.

Another thing that erases a lot of sin, hydrolyzed chia, it is the only thing I do every day besides steak. Put dry chia in a bowl fill 20% level, fill with boiling water and stir, that is your base, just add that to any drink, my wife even puts in in coffee and tea. Basically it has no flavor, but the seeds survive stomach acid, so it hydrolyzes the ***** naturally and binds some stuff though absorption at the same time.

Holy smoke, you cant say b o w e l, LMA? Who are these people?

Yes diet is important but I feel most important is the amount of calories we burn and that last meal. Our ancestors burned a lot more calories then we do driving around, etc. also that last meal when you eat it compared to when you go to bed is important. Eating one or two hours before bed is not good your body only digests so much by the time you go to sleep most of it will turn to fat what it wasn’t able to burn. I try and eat my last meal 4 hours before going to bed. Your body has no choice but to burn fat when asleep at that point. I have been doing the 16 hour fast the last couple months and my energy level is way up and had to get a new belt and my weight has gone down. I eat first meal at 8am and my last meal is 4pm. Has done wonders for me. Is hard at first but gets easier

Our bodies were never meant to consume the amount of calories most do and not burn it off. All IMO

BOIRD luvs his veggies, but I guess I ruin the pooch cause I got Red Wine Vinaigrette on anything green, salads, beans, broccoli, stuff like that. But than I am not a Vegetarian BOIRD either (Bloot type A-), I just cannot afford to go out and buy a lot of pricy meat at current prices and income level.

BUT getting back to thread, BOIRD most definitely has 100% Synthetic in the crank case and a real good filter on the RAM.
