I've seen to much lately about oils that Im just going to keep on using Red Line 5w/30 until it's not offered anymore or my HEMI engine implodes on itself.

It's actually becoming too confusing, with much respect to all, but I'd rather not "experiment" and just keep on riding out my oil/filter combo.

... I'll stay neutral from now on out, lol.

PAO oil for 4 bucks a qrt is a different conversation then something 15 bucks a qrt, but I haven't seen hpl uoa's if it justifies that much more money, certainly has a better additive pack my guess.

I have heard a lot of positive things about this oil, but after seeing how SS 0W-40 dropped in viscosity in a short oci, I am staying away from 0W-40 oils. My only exception might be HPL.

For what it's worth, this oil (M1 0w-40) did OK in my truck. But iron and copper were both higher than RL 5w-30 which I ran before that, and it sheared down to a 30 grade. That was with a full shot of LG as well.

However even with the shearing, it was still thicker than real 30 grades I was running, so I didn't see that as a problem. I just get anxious mixing oils and additives together, I'd rather pay a pro to get it right for me.

And here we are told they are lubed for life.

The implication is expected lifespan, what they mean is warranty period. 60k miles.
What sane person wants to lay out north of 75 thousand dollars on a vehicle that is made for a short duration, such as 60,000 miles/ 5 years?

"Lifetime" carries a connotation that implies "forever, hence". These greedy manufacturers know this and depend upon the muddy waters of the unspoken/ buried way deep in fine print as opposed to unarticulated expectations of the consumer who is told "this item has a lifetime warranty".

Caveat Emptor.

Damn Corey, you found another great video. We could have posted that day one and we could have talked about something other then oil, because he covered it all. I been saying for a hot minute, API brands mean squadush anymore, just go Kirkland or super tech if you are going full synthetic? Plus, boutique only benefits certain applications, no reason to run redline in my rav 4, but hemi?

So doesn't this effect the most popular oil on this board? Pennzoil still doesn't have the dexos donut? Shouldnt they have made their oils dexos since dexos is running isht? Me thinks big yes. I think it is probably a GM thing as Opposed to the smart play, but dexos specs only help your product. I'm drinking Kirkland in the rav 4 and that's it.
