This brings back memories - Fleetguard developed a duplex oil filter that was part bypass and part full flow. Not sure if they make one for little engines (like Ram 6B6.7), but we rolled it out on our 1st Cummins QSK60 engine....a V16 with 3,000 horsepower. Might check this out for Ram.

We have seem that. Great filter option. I think we found there is not a good option for the rams if I remember right.

Sure there is - I used one back in '91-'99 on my original 6B5.9T engine. Here.......

https://puredieselpower.com/product...etguard-venturi-combo-oil-filter-lf9691a.html
Fleetguard LF9691A. Or Amazon, or wherever.

Or not - Fleetguard page runs up to 2015 with different LF filter number. The above info is a re-seller. Advise anyone to just call a Cummins Distributor.

Now, maybe every hemi should have one of these anyhow? High Pressure oil pumps as opposed to high volume like rick aka wild boy suggests.

Would there be issues with other parts of engine having seal problems with 75 PSI oil pressure? Seems it would sure find the weak spots in a hurry! :)

Well i feel I can confidently say that the Redline 5W30 seem to make my Engine QUIETER than Redline 5W40. Engine is still way quieter on redline than on any other oil brand I’ve tried but I’m just being honest.

I think some guys starting last year or two have felt the same way, that even finding the correct redline for any engine can be a process, but it is the brand keeping most hemi's the quietest. 5w30 for hemi 6.4 seams a good choice, 0w30 is more popular then ever 5.7 in cold places benefiting guys even at 30-40f. Find something that sticks and ride it till it don't. For guys in warm places start thick and move down if needed, 5w30 for me thick for 5.7. For people in the cold, start thin and move thick, 0w30 likely is the choice.

This is great info Kyle[emoji106]

So it appears RL 5w30 is Hemi Honey for the 6.4 as well...

I would not say that is for everyone.

Just for me.

If anyone is willing to try it though they now have at least one example of success

Started using Redline a year ago in 14 1500 5.7 with 65k miles. Slowly developed a ticking which got progressively louder. Thank goodness it was the manifolds! Had them taken care of, and now my engine is so stinkin' quiet I accidently turned the key to start it when it was already running...thank goodness the system prevents the starter from engaging.

I often wonder if the few people that redline doesn't kill the tick of have mani bolts as the issue.

Sounds like you need a solo performance muffler delete kit from @Nick@GotExhaust

I haven’t been keeping up as I should been busy with life. I did want to share I got Shell Gas Truck 5w-20 full syn at Walmart on clearance for $10 a 5 Qt jug so I bought the last three. I’ll use them in my wife’s T&C. l then found a random quart of PP 10w-30 for $1.66 they only had one left. If you are not brand specific you may want to get some.

Maybe they don't want to read 4,000 pages of analysis and testimonial? :anitoof:

Well I don’t know why not, it’s actually the heart and soul of the forum. This is actually the one thread where you’re pretty much safe from dumb questions and a logical approach seems to prevail most of the time.
