Tailgate cap/protector

I have a 2011 Ram 2500. It has a cap on the top edge of the tailgate but I pull a trailer and the tailgate bangs into the lift crank on the rear edge of the tailgate denting the tailgate if someone becomes careless (as in last weekend). Is there a tailgate cap that goes over the top and down the outer edge a couple of inches toward the latch handle so I won't be repairing this area constantly? (I've seen these for Fords and Chevy's but not Dodge.)

The one from DeeZee doesn't cover the whole of the plastic of the tailgate cap, much less reach further towards the latch. I have one on my truck (I love the side rails, but the tailgate piece leaves much to be desired in my opinion)

IU agree. I have yet to see one that extends far enough over the back edge. It looks like I may need to find a piece and perhaps glue it on.

I would love to find a protector for the rear portion of my tailgate. My GMC was setup much better than this. Had a plastic piece that was easily replaceable if damaged.
