I also used the mounting brackets that came with my Putco, I can either unsnap it, or there is enough "flex" in the light bar to move it to gain access to the spare tire tool hole.

Hey guys, I have the Opt7 light bar.. do yours light up when you lock / unlock the vehicle with the key fob?

Also, can the white reverse light be turned on without having the truck running so you can use it as a utility light when outside the truck?

Here are the pics of the Putco switchblade. As you can see you don’t have to do any modifications to anything and you can just on snap the light bar to access the winch. In the picture looking down you can see how the spacing is perfect to fit over the access hole

I would like to think that the taillight portion of the light bar would flash with the other lights. I have my light flash programmed not to flash when I use the remote. As for the reverse light, you would have to wire that into an independent switch to accomplish what you want.

I installed mine with the metal clamps that screw into the metal.. so now the light bar just snaps in and out.. Chose that method instead of the tape method so I could easily get access to the spare if needed.

Where does it say Redlines come with these metal clamps?? I can't find this anywhere... but I do like the Putco slim style... just wanted Sequential Turn Signals

I also have the OPT7 and I really like it. I pulled the plastic piece off of the spare tire access hole and mounted the light bar with the double sided tape. I also used the adapter from the 7-pin behind the connector. I would buy this again and recommend it.

I pulled the spare tire grommet and used the metal clamps that came with it to mount it.

I also used some double sided gorilla tape on each end.

I used the curt adapter and plugged the white wire with a bullet adapter into the fifth slot on the curt adapter.

Used the provided zip ties (could have been longer) to hide and secure the wiring under my truck.

it works great. Brake light, sequential turn signals (I got red not amber) and reverse. It also lights up when I lock and unlock my truck with my key fob.

would definitely recommend the opt 7 light bar but be sure to get the curt adapter that way you don’t have to hot wire anything into your light harness.

Another vote for the OPT7 Triple ...had mine for awhile and works perfect. Used the tape and clamps, used a adapter with 5 pi flat for other options (have sequential turns and curtesy lights behind the running boards too)

Cant go wrong with OPT7

I’ve had two of them within two years . Both end up going out after a just under a year. Looks awesome when it works but damn it’s
Frustrating how it fails.

That's unfortunate..seems like the reliability is all over the place. QA issues? Maybe...definitely one of those YMMV situations.

I also am on my 2nd OPT7, I think my 1st one only lasted about a year and a half but I washed my truck at least 3 times a week at the car wash so I figured with all the pressure washing at the beginning of the car wash that is what ruined it.

I now wash the truck on my own so I haven't had any issues but this winter has sucked with snow so I might have to start bringing it to the car wash again and getting the monthly pass again. Hopefully this 2nd light bar can hold up.

Im on my second opt7 bar but for a GOOD reason!!
Had one on my 17 with NO issues ever! Traded it Dec 27th 2020 and
Immediately ordered on for my present truck.
This one I got red sequential instead of amber
I absolutely love this bar as opposed to others with individual led chips.

Does anyone who has the tailgate light bar also do the step lights like opt7 offers?

Yep..got the LED sequential amber turns under each side, behind the bars. They are 60" iirc.... Also lights up white when the courtesy/ mirror puddle lights come on.. People know when I'm turning!
