So apparently a couple days ago, i was backing up to a wall to get access to the dumpster. With the rain and having my bed full of trash i misjudged my distance and hit the corner of the pass side tailgate. Now its dentedand my tailgate is off. Not really noticable if you dont know its there.
Anyway wondering if anyone knows of a couple ways i can reform or bend it back to somewhat normal without taking it to a body shop.

I can't help the fix part but if you had to back up to the wall of the dumpster enclosure to throw your trash over into the bin I can assume you didn't have permission to use said dumpster in the first place.............and this is what Karma looks like?:roflsquared::crazy::roflsquared:

What i have done before on dents and **** on other vehicles not my truck... yet...
Use a hair dryer heat the paint up but becareful not to bubble the clearcoat/paint.. but get it hot... Then get a can of compressed air and flip it upside down and let the freeze stuff hit it and may pop out... quick cheap way... works maybe half the time...

Worked for me on small dents on my VW, my truck is pretty new so far and has no dents

Easy now. I mentioned it because I have done the exact same thing when I was younger, less the tail gate dent. And yes, I was dumping illegally in the back of the local strip mall and was run off by one of the store workers. Bags of beer cans and bottles had to be disposed of.

I tend to stay away from anything attracting attention. It was a nobrain moment. I normally back to the wall carefully but for some reason I didnt this time and my angle was off. Tailgate suffered. Its a truck i know it will get messed up hell i put thousands of pounds of trash in it daily. My son used it to stop his bike a couple times. The part that bothers me is its off alignment because of this.
Sorry for the rude statement, i have an issue with assumptions. Sometimes they are right and sometimes they arent. I had just gotten home from one job and was heading out to job number 2...

Well after looking at it and comparing to my wifes truck. I think the tailgate swivel peice, thats mounted to the bes is also bent which is why im having issues with it being aligned. And i dont think that is replaceable, unless i swap beds...
When i go visit family next week i think im gonna try a metal tube and bend it straight. But it for sure is a little cocked sideways.
