Tapping into cig lighter question

I was thinking of tapping into the keyed power source ( left one ) above my cup holders, to hard wire the bullydog I ordered... Just seems an easier solution.

Does this section of the dash pop off? looking for the best way to get to the wire I need to tap into for power without breaking something.

Do you have the column shift? If so carefully pull the bottom trim piece off along the very bottom and then you should be able to see the wire that you need to tap

If all you need is a 12v source then yes, that is plenty sufficient.
